Medical Self-declaration
The FFRandonnée has initiated an administrative simplification which aims to make practitioners responsible for their health. The changes are sumarised below and are effective from April 2023. The text below is a translation only. The FFRandonnée website provides the full BINDING rules for certification. For full details please consult the FFRandonnée website using the following link:
Medical Certificates
A Medical Certificate less than six months old is required for walking and hiking activities and related activities (leisure and/or competition) for new members of La Randonnee Rurale and following an interruption of membership for two or more years.
Annual renewal of the license (Membership renewal)
Each individual must complete a self-declaration questionnaire provided by the FFRandonnée by answering “no” to all the questions. In the event of a positive answer to one or more questions, the FFR Federal Medical Commission strongly advises consulting a doctor on the continuation of the practices concerned (leisure and/or competition) but the medical certificate is no longer required. This questionnaire is the property of the member and must not be shown to the club or committee. The committee will ask you to confirm by email that you have completed the self-declaration but will not ask you for a copy of it.
Participation in competitions or sporting events managed by the FFRandonnée
A medical certificate which is less than 6 months is compulsory every three years when renewing the license (sporting seasons). Between these CACIs, competitors must complete the federal health questionnaire and attest to having answered “no” to all the questions. Where one or more positive answers is given it is strongly advised to consult a doctor on his ability to participate in the events concerned.
For Children (under 18)
A medical certificate is not required for new members or on renewal (leisure and/or competitions). The responsible parent must however provide parental authority that the self-questionnaire specific to minors (regulatory) has been completed jointly (parent and child) and that all the answers to the questions are negative. Where there is a one or more positive answers a fully certified medical certificate following a doctor's consultation is mandatory and must be less than six months old for new membership. The committee will ask you to confirm by email that you have completed the self-declaration but will not ask you for a copy of it.
